WHAT IF A SIMPLER WAY OF LIVING

Could change the world we live in?

When we’re constantly coming into contact with the “bad” in the world and what’s going horribly wrong, it can be hard to imagine what it would take to cultivate a world of good.

What if we could innovate, move forward, and sow new seeds of thought while simultaneously returning back to our roots of how generations lived before us?

SOWING NEW SEEDS, STRENGTHENING OLD ROOTS

Welcome to Honeymilk:
We’re advocating for what our world truly needs to nourish back to health

The technical definition of “health” is: the state of being free from illness or injury. But here at Honeymilk, we know that true health involves more than just our physical bodies, so we think the first part of that definition is a bit more accurate.

Here we define “health” as: the state of being free.

And if we think about full-body freedom, it’s inspired by so much more than just one aspect of life. Freedom can be brought by the way we consume, the way we earn, the way we raise our families, even the way we think about things. We don’t want to just be free for a moment, either. We want to be kind enough to our world where we can inspire a legacy of freedom for generations to come.

Now, that’s a heavy topic.

But we believe that big change can be brought about by small, even FUN and life giving actions that make our daily experiences sweeter, too.

Conscious shift toward a better world

That’s why here at Honeymilk, we’ve crafted 5 main hubs
to initiate real change in the direction of good.

  • Honeymilk is a content hub focused on furthering the pursuit of a community who desires a better way of living, and who believes that your choices MATTER for the future you hope to build.

We touch on topics like wellness, lifestyle, parenting, food, community, wisdom, finances, and more. We work to highlight actionable tips, deep explanations of complex topics, and brands and initiatives that can help each individual in their daily pursuit toward better. From cleaning products, to sustainably-sourced clothing, to syncing your life with the rhythms of the moon, you’ll learn something you can apply and experience some of the sweetness that the world has to offer.

  • Changing how the world functions really goes hand-in-hand with changing the way we consume. For this reason, we focus on creating, building, and partnering with brands who have ideals that contribute to a world of good as well as products or initiatives that help others do the same.

Each quarter, we highlight a specific brand and give our community an opportunity to consume consciously or even get involved with the do-good efforts of the brand or business.

    SUPPORT HONEYMILK BRANDS

  • We don’t really believe that knowledge is power. Instead, we believe knowledge filtered through the heart and put into ACTION is power. But we also know that learning a different way of doing things can be the first step toward living differently.

At Honeymilk, we have a suite of online educational opportunities for our community to learn things such as nourishing + sustainable business practices, living practices, and parenting practices.

  • The thing that affects our life experience more than anything else is community. We believe that engaging in thoughtful community online and even living in intentional community in-person can help you feel more connected, fulfilled, and ultimately more action-oriented and open-minded in your journey toward better.

At Honeymilk, we have a large online community of common-good-warriors you can join for free.

We also prioritize real-life connection, so we offer opportunities for in-person community such as retreats and even co-housing living communities.

Note from the founder: Tirzah Shirai

“I didn’t grow up this way.”

I’m Tirzah Shirai, founder of Honeymilk, seasoned business-builder, systems innovator, and single mom to my son. Though I’m beyond grateful for the prosperity in my current life, I didn’t grow up this way.

After being born into a life where I was no stranger to getting clothes out of garbage bags or food from food banks, I worked my way up to a completely different life, with more prosperity than my parents ever dreamed of, through building and exiting businesses over time. Throughout my journey, I had a front row seat to many of the top-down structures that govern everything from what we eat, what we wear, or how we conduct our lives. What I learned? They rarely benefit everyone.

At the same time, I had access to my peers who were also in the 1% of earners. The drug abuse, suicide, addiction, affairs I saw brought light to a general unhappiness that could only mean one thing: making more money doesn’t solve everything.

I went from building 7-figure companies to working with organizations like Children of the Night, Step Up, Dignity Moves, and finally working within the foster care system to adopting my son as a single mom.

In trying to solve the world’s problems, I kept asking myself:

What makes life ENJOYABLE? What makes it fulfilling? How can we stop trudging through our days and make them sweet?

In all of those pursuits, explorations, and questions, the one concept that kept coming up as the answer was “community.”

Not long after, I visited one of the longest-running communities in the USA, and eventually made the move myself after seeing what a community reminiscent of a different time could do for the life we live today.

Living deeply in community brought me back to everything GOOD in the world that I’d forgotten was there.

When we live close-knit, collaborative lives, we’re able to live with greater connection to nature and each other. We can put our phones down and really see each other. We pool our resources for food, childcare, education, and even everyday household items.

More than the practical, money-saving elements of community, our shared meals and conversations in the margin of our days allow for a more open exploration of views and beliefs as we focus on what we have in common instead of where we stand divided.

However, I also could really see how living in that community was a bubble only available for the already-wealthy, and it wasn’t really accessible to the vast majority of people it could benefit. Plus, I wanted even more connection, through simple decisions like a community kitchen and more shared meals.

Ultimately, I knew there was still room for improvement, and that was something I wanted to set out to create myself.

And that’s where the idea of Honeymilk began. In an effort to meet you wherever you are in your journey of contributing to a world of good, we’re providing content, education, courses, and experiences to help you take your next intentional action toward “better” with an open heart and connection to others who are doing the same.

Why “Honeymilk?”

A simple name inspiring an ambitious initiative

What our world really needs is to connect back to the sweetness and nourishment it used to thrive on. Communities used to work together to cultivate what they needed — one family would keep the bees, another would milk the cows, another would grow veggies, and then they would share in that harvest, connecting over their commonalities.

This concept inspired Honeymilk: to get back to a world of good, we need to prioritize the sweet and nourishing practices that have helped communities thrive through the ages.

At Honeymilk, we hope to inspire you to evaluate what’s nourishing the sweetness in your own life and what’s taking away from it. Then, together, we’ll look at the world we live in and ask the same questions before we take action toward change together.
